Who We Are

Unk DaRos

Andrew James Campbell

In 1994 Andy settled into Branford with his wife, Erica, a Branford native, and has been an active member of the community ever since. His family has grown significantly since he first settled here. He now has four children — three daughters and one son — whom all attend Branford Public Schools. He has wonderful in-laws all over town.

Andy has an office located on the beautiful Branford Green where he has practiced law since his arrival here in town. Most of his practice is devoted to representing children in custody cases.

Andy was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on April 23, 1966, and grew up in small towns around the Midwest. In 1984 he came to Connecticut as a student at Wesleyan University in Middletown. During his time at Wesleyan he majored in Government and participated in athletics such as football and track. He was captain of the track team his senior year. He received the Dana Scholarship for academic achievement and leadership, and the Kingsley Fellowship for character and contribution to Wesleyan. In the summer of 1987 he interned in the United States Senate. Andy attended Washington & Lee University Law School, in Lexington, Virginia. While attending law school he clerked for Professor Robert N. Davis, was the Law School Sports Czar and was part of the Western State Hospital Clinical Program. In 2009, Andy received a Masters in Public Administration from Southern Connecticut State University.

After law school Andy came back to Connecticut to work for Shawmut Mortgage Company as a paralegal. He then moved to the Connecticut headquarters to become Associate Counsel and Assistant Vice President for Shawmut Bank.

Andy moved to Branford in the summer of 1994, was married that fall and has lived here since. Andy previously served on the Representative Town Meeting from 1997 to 2003, as Chairman of the Rules and Ordinances Committee of the RTM, and as Chairman of the Branford Democratic Town Committee. In 2006, Andy was appointed and served as Chairman of the Tax Relief Committee. He has coached soccer and football, and was on the Branford Youth Football Board. In 2010, Andy received the Outstanding Advocacy Award from the New Haven Regional Children’s Probate Court.

Andy loves the small town of Branford. It was easy to say yes to living in his wife’s hometown. “Branford is the perfect place to raise a family — nice folks and neighborhoods everywhere,” according to Andy. We know our children are safe and receive an excellent education. Andy’s son, Andrew, Jr. says it best: “Branford is the only place to live”.
