Attracted the gift of the VNA building to provide overflow space for Town offices

Insisting on Organizational Excellence
and Planning for the Future

Insisted on excellence, not cronyism when recruiting and hiring candidates to fill Town jobs.

Developed unanimous support from the RTM and the Board of Finance for acquiring the Tabor property by eminent domain, thus protecting the Town if hazardous materials should come to the surface in the future.

Built the sewage treatment plant on schedule and under budget. Planned the facility using “value engineering” for the most cost-efficient design, and put the money saved into improved odor control. The plant was funded by a $4 million state grant and low interest state loans.

Hired a new supervisor for the treatment plant and helped to resolve major labor problems at the plant as well as other inherited labor issues. The DaRos/Walsh administration left no outstanding labor grievances and no surprises at the conclusion of their Town Hall tenure.

Attracted the gift of the VNA building to provide much-needed attractive and accessible overflow space for Town offices such as the Registrar of Voters.

Began implementing the Town’s Geographic Information System (GIS) database with assistance from the Regional Water Authority to improve infrastructure management and land use decisions.
