The DaRos/Walsh leadership style combines outreach with action. Unk & Fran partner with citizen leaders to launch good ideas, form coalitions and build consensus. They always tell the truth. They have no hidden agendas. And they get results. During their Town Hall tenure, they made economic, environmental and social decisions that laid a solid foundation for the Branford we enjoy today.
For example:

Unk & Fran saved taxpayers money by earning the town’s first improved bond rating in 27 years. They brought stability to the town’s finances and infrastructure, paving the way for two subsequent bond rating upgrades, essential for attracting and sustaining economic development. |

They made protecting the environment and preserving open space a priority. They invested in cleaning up and protecting Long Island Sound; acted to prevent the Queach from being developed; and created the first Select Committee on Open Space Acquisition to inventory and make recommendations for protecting the town’s remaining open space assets. |
